Las Vegas Nightclub Evacuated Amid Suspicious Package DiscoveryLas Vegas Nightclub Evacuated Amid Suspicious Package Discovery A nightclub in Las Vegas was abruptly evacuated early Saturday morning after a suspicious package was discovered inside the establishment. The incident occurred at the EBC Nightclub inside the Plaza Hotel and Casino downtown. According to police, a security guard noticed an unattended package near the entrance of the club around 1:30 a.m. The club was immediately evacuated and the area around the package was cordoned off. The Las Vegas Fire Department and Police Department responded to the scene. A bomb squad was subsequently deployed to examine the package. After a thorough investigation, it was determined that the package did not pose any threat. The all-clear was given around 3:30 a.m. and patrons were allowed back into the nightclub. No injuries were reported. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is conducting an investigation into the incident. They are reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses. “We take these situations very seriously,” said LVMPD spokesperson Larry Hadfield. “The safety of our community is our top priority.” The Plaza Hotel and Casino released a statement saying they are cooperating with the police investigation. The statement also expressed gratitude to the staff and patrons for their prompt and orderly evacuation. The incident is a reminder of the heightened security measures that are in place in Las Vegas following the mass shooting at Mandalay Bay in 2017.
