Sellin, a 23-year-old right wing, has been plagued by shoulder problems for the past few months. Despite receiving conservative treatment, the injury persisted and surgery became necessary. The surgery, which took place on Tuesday, was performed by Dr. Michael Lehnert at the Diako hospital in Hannover. Lehnert is a renowned orthopedic surgeon with extensive experience in treating shoulder injuries in professional athletes. “The surgery went very well,” said Lehnert. “We were able to stabilize the shoulder joint and repair the damaged tissue. Max is now on the road to recovery.” Sellin is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022/23 season as he recovers from surgery. Hannover-Burgdorf head coach Christian Prokop expressed his disappointment but wished Sellin a full and speedy recovery. “It’s a bitter blow to lose Max for the rest of the season,” said Prokop. “He’s a key player for us, and his absence will be felt. However, our priority is his health, and we’re all behind him as he goes through this recovery process.” Sellin thanked the club and medical staff for their support and said he was determined to return to the court stronger than ever. “I’m obviously disappointed to miss the rest of the season, but I’m doing everything I can to recover as quickly as possible,” said Sellin. “I’m grateful to the club and medical team for taking such good care of me, and I’m confident that I’ll come back from this stronger than before.” Hannover-Burgdorf fans have sent their well wishes to Sellin and are eagerly anticipating his return to the team.
