According to officials with the U.S. Forest Service, which manages the site, the closure is necessary due to recent overflows of the hot springs that have created slippery and hazardous conditions for visitors. “The safety of our visitors is our top priority,” said District Ranger Maria Garcia. “With the recent heavy rainfall, the water levels have risen significantly, making it unsafe for people to enter the area.” The hot springs are a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, known for their warm, mineral-rich waters. However, Garcia stressed that visitors should not attempt to enter the springs while they are closed. “We know that people may be disappointed, but we ask that they respect the closure and stay away from the area until it is deemed safe to reopen,” she said.
